Resolutions? Realign!

Oh my god, I love New Year’s. It’s almost as fun as death! If you, the one reading this, were dead right now, you would know with certainty that:

1. you are forgiven for everything, nothing is held against you, you are free
2. anything you want is attainable

Two occurs especially fast when you understand one. Everyone comes here excited to be here, because they know this. Over time, (which doesn’t exist, therefore you could readily realign with your original knowing and excitement, without having to do anything) after trials and tribulations, the excitement usually wanes along with the feeling that you are free to have anything. Except on New Years! There’s celebration with a focus towards possibility and renewal.
Your resolutions are fairly effortless to keep when you accept and remember; just as it is a new year and the slate is wiped clean, you are forever clean.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Unwrapping You

We’re watching The History Channel’s “Christmas Unwrapped” special and they are discussing the commercialization of Christmas, which we all have heard, but I thought this was fresh and particularly interesting because of the specific way in which the subject was approached.

I was so very shocked to learn in death that nothing really means anything, even things that we all, in varying degrees accept; even events as big as Christmas. Things that I had truly believed in, had put so much emotion and truth into, had no solid backing, was not necessarily even real.

My friends watching with me said, “well people need something to believe in.”

I get it, but try to know that just because your eyes are focused outwards, looking outwards, does not mean that that is the only place to look.

Ah, the trickery of the ocular assessment! All of Christmas seems to be such. There’s an amassing of gifts and if there aren’t any gifts, well, then it’s not Christmas.

Why?

Have you no inner thrill existing independent of presents, that can be honed into a heart bursting crescendo Christmas morning?

And we can say yes, it’s really not about the presents, it’s about all the cliché things, but with that you once again run the risk of observation coming up short and wanting to lean towards something solid, like an ipod.

I propose working the inner thrill, cheer, sweetness, gratitude, glow, style, grace, and heart. Some ingenuity, creativity, perhaps some zest for life?

Must it be so prosaic, so uninspiring, as presents=good Christmas, no presents=bad Christmas?

Replacing the energy expended in shopping and trying to put it all together, with a spry mind, an allegiance to happiness, an awareness of who your true self is and the strength to break out of the mold and enact it.

Merry Christmas, genuinely
